Welcome to the new members! Please respond to this message if you have any specific requests.
Ya sabes que quieres cambiar de trabajo. Maybe it was something your boss said, or the fact that you have not gotten a raise in years. De todos modos, hay que cambiar.
But you don’t suddenly jump from one job to the next. There is a lot of preparation, and planning. There is a countdown that starts months before. And that is what we will look at.

Make a clear list of what you are looking for in a new job: industry, size, remote, management or not..etc..
Go on Linkedin and begin making a short list of companies that interest you. Follow them on Twitter if you use it.
Start refreshing your interview English: you will need to be able to present yourself, answer behavioral questions and hold a professional conversation.
Get an idea of your salary. It’s hard to know how much you can potentially make. My advice is to talk to 3 different sources, a recruiter or two and a colleague, and triangulate.
Actualiza tu Linkedin. Here are some tips.

Begin preparing the technical interview. You will probably be tested on things you have not touched for ages. It’s time to refresh! I recommend LeetCode for practice, and if you have some more money, try Interviewing.io (100 dollars per session).
Practice your English. This is a muscle that you will need to continuously improve. If you need to practice your fluidity, try Tandem.
Finish your short list: you want an extensive list of companies, aim for 50 at least, that interest you in some way and that you are qualified for. Interact with the teams at those companies on Twitter. Don’t fall in love with any one company!
Review your CV. Make sure its formatted for a US audience. Aquí tienes una guia.

Do some real world prep. Obviously, don’t tell them that is your strategy 😜
Be able to speak about yourself confidently in English. Take a look at this article for more info. No hay excusa! 😬
Continue practicing tech interviews. Watch Interviewing.io’s mock interview recordings. What went well? Where could they have done better?

Start applying to 2 jobs per day. Don’t spam. Try something personalized if possible, and if you have developed a contact at the target company, feel free to email them.
Open up your schedule for the next month. Encontrar un nuevo trabajo es un trabajo! You will need to focus on homeworks, interview scheduling, and more prep. This takes up huge amounts of time.
Practice asking questions. Las empresas siempre te van a preguntar “do you have any questions for me?”.
